Join us inside to hear the story of the Southern Resident Killer Whale mother Tahlequah J35 and her calf J61, lovingly called Aldebaran or "Bara" for short, after the bright orange star of Winter. Each participant will paint real-life baby orca markings on their FREE eco-friendly fabric baby orca stuffed animal to take home! Before moving outside, we will paint paper baby orca cutouts and attach them to a large mobile community art board, creating a growing sea of baby orcas to bring hope to all! As low tide occurs, we will move outside to the beach for a short environmental presentation, a beach walk, and a meet and greet with FieldLab Founder and Environmental Researcher Julianne Ubigau and Jasper, Environmental Scent Detection Dog.
