About the event
Join ESC and Bats Northwest at Seahurst Park to be a part of this community science project. Come learn about our local bats and the amazing adaptations that make them so important to our environment. We'll then venture out into the park at dusk to collect data on bat activity levels. Bats are a common wildlife species across Washington state, but their nocturnal habits mean that people often don’t notice them. This program will teach you how to be a part of the Bat Activity Trends community science project to help scientists learn more about this unique animals.
We are empowering YOU to become a community scientist while learning more about local bat species and bat conservation issues. The BAT program involves going out to observe bats, right in your own neighborhood. The goal of the BAT program is to collect data on bat sightings across Washington. Getting out into nature…
