Join ESC for the annual Green Crab Molt Blitz at Seahurst Park! The Green Crab Molt Blitz is a Salish Sea wide event organized by Washington Sea Grant. ESC will be there to provide training and green crab molt search protocol – so no experience necessary! But we encourage you to attend our training date beforehand on June 6th.

Invasive Green Crabs pose a threat to our native crab populations, soft shell clams, and eelgrass beds – which is essential habitat for our salmon! Green Crabs have been spotted as south as Whidbey Island, and this will be the first large-scale monitoring effort at this location to collect baseline data.

By collecting this essential monitoring data, you are helping prevent the spread of Green Crabs in Salish Sea!
