About the event
Join us inside to hear the story of the Southern Resident Killer Whale mother Tahlequah J-35 and her calf J-61, lovingly called Aldebaran or "Bara" for short, the orange star of Winter. We will engage afterwards in watercolor art making around baby orcas. As low tide occurs we will move outside to the beach for a short environmental presentation, a beach walk, and a meet and greet with a Conservation Canine team. A morning of comfort and joy you don't want to miss! Brought to you by Local Storyteller and Artist Julie Seitz and the Environmental Science Center.
Best for ages 5-12 and families. Registration is required as supplies are limited.
This event is FREE thanks to our generous sponsors: 4Culture & the City of Burien Arts Commission.
